Beskrivning
The Von Norten Athena Silver Rechargeable Table Lamp is a cordless, portable LED table lamp that puts warm light exactly where you want it — on the dining table, the bar, the windowsill — with no cable, no plug socket and no compromise on how it looks. Designed in Stockholm, Athena Silver pairs a compact silver base with Von Norten’s interchangeable fabric lampshades, so one lamp can be restyled for a season, a table setting or a whole room.
At 18 cm the Athena base is the shortest Von Norten makes. It sits below eye level across a laid table, which is why it is the model most often chosen for dining and hospitality.
Best for: dining tables, restaurant and café tables, wedding and event styling, and anyone who wants a cool-toned metal to sit alongside silver, steel or pewter tableware.
Warm, dimmable light
Athena Silver uses a warm 2700K LED to create soft, inviting ambient light.
A single button on the base cycles through three brightness levels — low, medium and high — and then off.
With a colour rendering index of CRI Ra >80, Athena Silver renders food, flowers and glassware naturally — which matters more on a dining table than raw brightness does.
Rechargeable and cordless
Athena Silver runs on an integrated 5200 mAh rechargeable lithium battery. A full charge takes 4–6 hours over the included USB-C cable and gives 15–20 hours of light, depending on the brightness setting — comfortably more than a full evening service.
Because Athena Silver is completely cordless, it can be carried between tables, taken outside for dinner and brought back in, with no trailing cable and no need for a socket nearby.
Interchangeable lampshades
Von Norten lampshades mount on a universal E27/E14 ring fitting, the standard by which shades and bases are matched across Europe. The shade you choose is included in the price, and further shades are available in small, medium and large, in a wide range of fabrics, prints, colours and trims — and because the fitting is a standard one, most shades made for ordinary lamp bases will fit as well.
The same base can take on a classical, modern or bold character depending on which shade it is paired with.
Using Athena Silver outdoors
Athena Silver is rated IP20, which means it is designed for indoor use and has no protection against water. It can be used outdoors in dry weather — on a terrace, at an outdoor table — but should be brought inside if it starts to rain. For a lamp built to stay outside, see Ophelia, which is rated IP54.
Dimensions
- Lamp base height: 18 cm / 7.1 in
- Base height including the bulb holder: 21 cm / 8.3 in
- Total height with small shade: 27 cm / 10.6 in
- Total height with medium shade: 28.5 cm / 11.2 in
- Total height with large shade: 31.5 cm / 12.4 in
- Base width: 11 cm / 4.3 in
Two figures, because they measure different things: the base is 18 cm, and 21 cm with the bulb holder on top. A shade drops down over the holder and is measured from 18 cm, which is why the totals above are not the base plus the shade’s own height.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the battery last on one charge?
15–20 hours, depending on which brightness setting you use. Charging takes 4–6 hours over the included USB-C cable.
Will Von Norten lampshades fit other lamps?
Yes. The shades use a universal E27/E14 ring fitting, the standard by which shades and bases are matched across Europe, so they fit every Von Norten base and most table lamps from other makers.
How tall is the finished lamp?
The base is 18 cm. With a shade the total is 27 cm (small), 28.5 cm (medium) or 31.5 cm (large) — a shade does not add its full height, because the ring fitting sits partway up inside it.
Can Athena Silver be used outdoors?
In dry weather, yes. It is rated IP20 with no water protection, so bring it indoors if it rains. Ophelia is the model rated for outdoor use.
Can the bulb be replaced?
Yes. Athena Silver uses a replaceable E14 LED bulb rather than a sealed light source.
Is Athena Silver suitable for restaurants and cafés?
Yes. A single charge covers a full service, there is no cable to route across a table, and the lamps can be charged overnight.
What is the difference between Athena Silver and Athena Gold?
Only the finish. Athena Silver is silver, Athena Gold is gold and brass. Dimensions, battery, light and shade compatibility are identical.
