The most generous of the neutral shades: 30 cm across, 23 cm tall, beige herringbone woven into a cream white ground and finished with a suede velvet trim at both edges.
Wide and tall enough to light a corner of a room rather than a table setting.
Large shades are proportioned for the taller lamp bases — Amalfi, Chelsea, Antibes and Athena Slim — and sit equally well on a larger base you may already own from another maker. On a shorter base the effect is deliberately generous and low-slung, which suits some rooms very well.
Fits most lamps, not only ours
Sand Herringbone is built on a universal E27/E14 ring fitting — the standard by which lampshades and lamp bases are matched across Europe. It sits on every Von Norten base, and on most table lamps from other makers, corded or rechargeable. If your lamp takes an E27 or E14 bulb and carries its shade on a ring fitting, this shade will fit it.

Will this lampshade fit my lamp?
Almost certainly. Sand Herringbone uses a universal E27/E14 ring fitting, the standard by which shades and bases are matched across Europe, so it is not tied to Von Norten lamps. It fits every Von Norten base — Athena, Athena Slim, Antibes, Amalfi and Chelsea — and most table lamps from other makers, whether corded or rechargeable. The test is simple: if your lamp takes an E27 or E14 bulb and holds its shade on a ring fitting, this shade will fit.
What size is this shade?
Extra large. Extra large is a room-scale shade and needs one of the taller bases.
Can I buy the shade on its own?
Yes. Von Norten shades are sold separately from the lamp bases, so you can build a collection and change the look of one lamp through the year.
Is the shade suitable for outdoor use?
In dry weather, on a covered terrace or table. Fabric shades should be brought indoors if it rains.
