The Von Norten Portofino Rechargeable Table Lamp is a cordless, portable LED table lamp that brings iron and hand-woven rattan into a compact 31 cm form — small enough to sit among plates and glasses, light enough to carry from room to room, and entirely cordless.
Designed in Stockholm, Portofino filters warm light through the rattan weave, casting texture as well as glow.
Best for: dining and side tables where a full-size lamp would crowd the surface, and for moving between rooms — dinner inside, coffee on the terrace.
Warm, dimmable light
Portofino uses a warm 2700K LED to create soft, inviting ambient light.
A single button on the base cycles through three brightness levels — low, medium and high — and then off.
With a colour rendering index of CRI Ra >85, Portofino renders food, flowers and glassware naturally — which matters more on a dining table than raw brightness does.
Rechargeable and cordless
Portofino runs on an integrated 5200 mAh rechargeable lithium battery. A full charge takes 4–6 hours over the included USB-C cable and gives 15–20 hours of light, depending on the brightness setting — comfortably more than a full evening service.
Because Portofino is completely cordless, it can be carried between tables, taken outside for dinner and brought back in, with no trailing cable and no need for a socket nearby.
Using Portofino outdoors
Portofino is rated IP20, which means it is designed for indoor use and has no protection against water. It can be used outdoors in dry weather — on a terrace, at an outdoor table — but should be brought inside if it starts to rain. For a lamp built to stay outside, see Ophelia, which is rated IP54.

How long does the battery last on one charge?
15–20 hours, depending on which brightness setting you use. Charging takes 4–6 hours over the included USB-C cable.
Can the shade be changed?
No. The shade is part of the lamp. Athena, Athena Slim and Antibes are the Von Norten models built for interchangeable shades.
Can Portofino be used outdoors?
In dry weather, yes. It is rated IP20 with no water protection, so bring it indoors if it rains. Ophelia is the model rated for outdoor use.
Is Portofino suitable for restaurants and cafés?
Yes. A single charge covers a full service, there is no cable to route across a table, and the lamps can be charged overnight.
What does a rattan shade do to the light?
The weave lets light through the shade as well as the opening, so Portofino casts a warmer, more textured glow than a fabric shade.
