The Von Norten Bamboo Rechargeable Table Lamp is a cordless, portable LED table lamp, and the most natural in the range — a bamboo base under a woven rattan shade, with no plated metal anywhere on it. At 25 cm it is compact enough for a laid table, and it is the only Von Norten lamp supplied with a remote control, so the light can be adjusted from across the room or down a long table.
Designed in Stockholm, Bamboo runs a warmer 3000K LED with a very high colour rendering index of Ra >90.
Best for: dining tables, natural and organic interiors, and any setting where you want to adjust the light without getting up.
Warm, dimmable light
Bamboo uses a warm 3000K LED to create soft, inviting ambient light.
Bamboo is operated by touch control with dimming, and also comes with a remote control — genuinely useful when the lamp sits at the far end of a table or on a high shelf.
With a colour rendering index of CRI Ra >90, Bamboo renders food, flowers and glassware naturally — which matters more on a dining table than raw brightness does.
Rechargeable and cordless
Bamboo runs on an integrated 2800 mAh rechargeable lithium battery. A full charge takes 4–6 hours over the included USB-C cable and gives 15–20 hours of light, depending on the brightness setting — comfortably more than a full evening service.
Because Bamboo is completely cordless, it can be carried between tables, taken outside for dinner and brought back in, with no trailing cable and no need for a socket nearby.
Using Bamboo outdoors
Bamboo is rated IP20, which means it is designed for indoor use and has no protection against water. It can be used outdoors in dry weather — on a terrace, at an outdoor table — but should be brought inside if it starts to rain. For a lamp built to stay outside, see Ophelia, which is rated IP54.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the battery last on one charge?
15–20 hours, depending on which brightness setting you use. Charging takes 4–6 hours over the included USB-C cable.
Can the shade be changed?
No. The shade is part of the lamp. Athena, Athena Slim and Antibes are the Von Norten models built for interchangeable shades.
Can Bamboo be used outdoors?
In dry weather, yes. It is rated IP20 with no water protection, so bring it indoors if it rains. Ophelia is the model rated for outdoor use.
Is Bamboo suitable for restaurants and cafés?
Yes. A single charge covers a full service, there is no cable to route across a table, and the lamps can be charged overnight.
Does Bamboo come with a remote control?
Yes — it is the only Von Norten lamp that does. The lamp can also be operated by touch on the base itself.
Why is Bamboo 3000K when most of the range is 2700K?
3000K is very slightly cooler and cleaner than 2700K. Both are warm white; the difference is subtle and suits the pale natural materials.
